Rev. Dr. Leonard F. Jarvis is a native of Jarvisburg, North Carolina. He completed his undergraduate work at Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, North Carolina where he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He continued his studies, obtaining his Master of Divinity Degree from New York Theological Seminary in 2001.

In 2010 Dr. Jarvis completed the requirements for his Doctor of Ministry Degree in Pastoral Counseling at Hebrew Union College. Prior to Dr. Jarvis retiring as the Pastor of Salvation Baptist Church, Bronx, New York; he was the Assistant Pastor of the Bethany Baptist Church, Jamaica, New York under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Craig Scott Brown.

Previously he was the Associate Pastor at Berean Baptist Church, Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Arlee Griffin, Pastor. In each of these ministries, Dr. Jarvis served in various capacities (Director of Evangelism, Director of New Members and Friends Ministry, Instructor of Mid-Week Bible Studies, and Director of the Christian Education Ministry). He currently serves as an associate minister at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Concord, North Carolina.

Aside from Rev. Jarvis’s religious involvement, professionally he was a Property and Casualty insurance sales Account Executive. In addition, Dr. Jarvis served on two non-profit boards: Urban Resource Institute and Safe Harbor Mentoring Program. Since moving to Concord, Dr. Jarvis has served in different capacities with the Cabarrus County NAACP and has gotten involved in the Cabarrus County Democratic Party.  Dr. Jarvis was the first person nominated to be Chief Judge by the Democratic Party. Jarvis has volunteered in the campaigns of Aimy Steele and Gayle Young who both ran for the North Carolina Assembly. Lastly, pre-covid he along with his wife volunteered at the George Washington Carver Elementary School where they mentored young African American children.  He and wife Gloria have been married for fifty (51) years. They are proud parents of two children (Jerrod and LaNaria) and proud grandparents of ten (10) grandchildren and one (1) great grandchild.

Sister Sandra has been a member of First Baptist Church for many years. She is responsible for various clerical duties for the church.  

Sister Linda has been a member of FBC for over 30 years. She serves on several ministries at FBC, to include the role of Deaconess. Another role she serves in is the Financial Secretary. She is responsible for keeping records of the deposits, providing the giving (tithes)records and other fiduciary duties.

Sister Carol has been a member of FBC for over 50 years. She serves on several ministries at FBC. One role that she serves in is as Treasurer. She is responsible for various fiduciary duties of the church.  

Brother Garry has been a member of FBC for over 50 years. He is the musician for all of the FBC Choirs. He serves on several ministries to include the role of Deacon.

Brother Marcel has been a member of FBC for over 50 years. He serves in the role of Sunday School Superintendent and President of the Men's Choir.
